Ricky first met Paulina in 2014 when they both attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, coming from Jakarta and Surabaya. Fate surely then pulls them even closer as they met in a club event. Little did they know that this day would mark the first page of their lifelong adventure book. 

Together, Ricky and Paulina have created many memories: moving to Columbus Ohio, becoming dog parents for their golden retriever Millie, hiking the national parks, and exploring new places. This chapter is not always smooth sailing, but it is through the struggles that they have solidified their love and commitment to each other.

Finally in 2019, on the top of the Old Rag mountain in the Shenandoah National Park, surrounded by bursts of autumn foliage, Ricky mustered up whatever little energy he had left, knelt down, and asked Paulina to marry him! Needless to say, she said 'Yes'!!!
